For your consideration today we have the following for sale.
A pair of French Candelabras.
Here is my assessment of this pair of French candelabras.
This style was enormously popular in France and exported widely during the Napoleon III / Third Republic era (roughly 1860–1900).
Key observations:
∙ Material: The candelabras appear to be spelter (zinc alloy) with a dark bronze patina finish, mounted on rouge royale marble bases — a very typical combination for this period.
∙ Style: Rococo Revival — the scrolling arms, urn-shaped body, and acanthus leaf details are characteristic
Estimated age: Late 19th century, circa 1870–1900.
Value range (rough estimate):
∙ A complete matching garniture set in good condition: $400–$1,500 at auction or antique dealers, depending on maker.
∙ Spelter vs. true bronze significantly affects value (spelter is much more common and less valuable)
Good shape.
